Blast Notification – Iqaluit North Forty Quarry
Explosive Blast Notice September 27th, 2021
To all concerned,
Please be advised that Tower Arctic Ltd. will be conducting an explosive blast on Monday, September 27th, 2021
Blast location: N 63°45’56.31’’ W 68°33’24.30’’
Target release for the blast execution is 17:45hrs (5h45 pm) local time. The blast radius will be approximately 200 meters and please be advised that no safety mattresses will be used for this blast.
Please rest assured that all required safety measures will be implemented in conjunction with our 2021 CYFB blasting agreement.
SUMMARY OF BLASTING PROCEDURE:
1) Determine the security zone around the North Forty Quarry (Approx. 200m)
2) Give 12 siren shots
3) 30 second pause
4) Firing
5) Blasting verification (misfire, projection, etc…)
6) Long siren call to indicate that workers can return to work
